Today you don’t have to choose contacts or glasses; there are opportunities for both depending on what you are doing.
Are contacts right for you?
Do you have a hard time seeing beyond rims and frames? Do you need freedom to play sports or work outdoors? If so, contact lens may be your preference. Contact lens technology has come a long way, so even if you were once told you could not wear them, there may be options for you today.
We begin with a thorough exam to determine what type of lens will work best for your needs. It’s important to know what your options are.
- Soft lenses – are replaced daily, bi-weekly and monthly.
- Multifocal (Bifocal) lenses - for patients who require a prescription for both distance and near vision. They correct for distance vision and reduce the need for reading glasses (or readers)
- Gas Permeable (GP Lenses) – GP lenses are made of a firm, durable plastic that transmits oxygen. They often provide crisper vision than soft lenses.
