Dry Eye Center

Dry eye is a common condition that occurs when your eyes don’t produce enough quality tears or when tears evaporate too quickly. This can cause irritation, burning, redness, blurry vision, or a gritty feeling that affects daily comfort. If left untreated, dry eye may also impact long-term eye health.

At Northpoint Eye Studio, we take a patient-focused approach to diagnosing and treating dry eye disease. Using advanced technology, we identify the root cause—whether it’s reduced tear production, meibomian gland dysfunction, environmental factors, or health-related issues. From there, we design a personalized treatment plan that may include prescription eye drops, punctal plugs, in-office therapies, or lifestyle adjustments.

Our goal is not just short-term relief but lasting improvement in comfort and vision.
Some symptoms may include:
  • Grittiness
  • Red eyes
  • Watery eyes
  • Eye Fatigue
  • Contact lens intolerance
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Watery eyes
  • Blurry vision

Oculus Keratograph 5M

diagnosing dry eye disease

The Oculus Keratograph 5M is an advanced diagnostic tool that helps us accurately detect, treat, and manage dry eye disease. This non-invasive test provides a detailed evaluation of your tear film by measuring tear volume, analyzing the lipid layer, and examining the structure of the meibomian glands. With this information, we can quickly determine the type and severity of dry eye you have, whether it’s caused by low tear production, tear evaporation, or gland dysfunction.

This precise diagnosis allows us to create a customized treatment plan that may include prescription therapies, in-office procedures, or lifestyle changes. By using the Keratograph 5M, Northpoint Eye Studio ensures every patient receives effective, personalized care for long-term eye comfort.

Relieving Dry Eyes Through

Modern Treatments

TearCare

At your appointment, Dr. Adeleke will determine whether your dry eye symptoms are caused by Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) and would benefit from the use of The TearCare® System. The TearCare® System is a wearable eyelid device that gently applies heat to the meibomian glands to melt and remove oil blockages.

Optilight IPL

Intense Pulse Light by Lumenis

OptiLight by Lumenis is the first FDA-approved dry eye treatment for meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD). This 4-session treatment is non-invasive and involves applying gel and light to the skin under your eyes. Each session is quick and painless, and you can return to normal skincare and makeup use without a problem. IPL reduces abnormal blood vessels that perpetuate inflammation and decreases the population of Demodex mites. It’s also known to reduce sun spots, spider veins, and redness of the face when combined with Photofacial treatment.

ZEST

During ZEST treatments, we gently exfoliate and clean the eyelids and eyelashes. Cleaning the eyelids removes biofilm, debris, and excess bacteria, opening up the pores and allowing the free-flowing of oil onto the tear film. This simple yet effective process relieves symptoms of dry eye disease and blepharitis.
